"The mind of a person plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps." Proverbs 16:9
The Heart of a Missionary
"Follow the yellow brick road
Follow the yellow brick road
Follow, follow, follow, follow, follow the yellow brick road
If ever oh ever a wiz there was, the Wizard of Oz is one because,
Because, because, because, because, because...
Because of the wonderful things he does
We're off to see the Wizard
The wonderful Wizard of Oz! "
~The Wizard of OZ, 1939
Ladies and gentleman, I introduce to you, your ear worm for the day. You're welcome! And if you were able to read the song above without singing it, you have skills I do not or maybe you are just too young for this post! Either way, give yourself a pat on the back!
Seriously though, can you relate? Maybe you've walking life's journey, following the road with a general destination in mind, but you don't know or understand where you are going or what exactly awaits you ahead? Me too! In fact, as I write these words, I find myself right there. As I enter a new spring season, eagerly greeting the warmth, color and new life it brings, I am so excited for the new energy and excitement it is bringing to my work and ministry! Even if that means I don't know how everything is going to play out.
This spring, Sandy, Coco and I will be meeting up and locking arms with two teams to take a journey together that will end with us putting on two New Life Camps in Africa this summer. Our biggest endeavor yet, we start the first camp in Kenya on June 24th, and finish up the second camp on July 17th in Tanzania. Though we plot our course and stride ahead, only the Lord knows how it will play out and all that will happen along the way!
Our first stop will be in Oostburg, WI, April 13-18th, to train our team from First Reformed Church of Oostburg to lead the New Life Camp in Kenya. In May, we make a stop in Big Bear, CA, May 4-8, to train our team from Big Bear Community Church to lead the New Life Camp in Tanzania. In the meantime, I am spending my days formatting manuals, tweaking budgets, and answering questions for two very excited teams. Hopefully I will be able to squeeze some fundraisers onto the calendar too. I'm busy, but so thrilled to be on this adventure! Though I will admit, I am looking forward to a quiet Easter full of worship, family and lots of treats before I hit the road for Oostburg in a couple weeks!
Happy Easter, and may our Risen Savior, Jesus Christ, be with you all!
Coco's Commentary
Happy Easter everyone! I hope your spring breaks and Easter celebrations are fun and safe. She stole my thunder, but as Michelle said above, we are so excited for our training trips to Wisconsin in April and California in May! (I mean one even has "bear" as part of their name!) Please keep Michelle in your prayers as she continues to raise funds while keeping up with all the ministry happening this spring. We are also looking for fundraising ideas to hold in April and May, so if you have any ideas, please drop them in the comments or message us. Speaking of fundraisers, we already have a few in the works, so be on the look out for some special announcements coming after the holiday to our social media pages and by email to our subscribers. If you would like to join our email list, subscribe below!

Prayer Pit Stop
For Michelle to reach her funding goal, including the $5,000 needed to travel to Africa for two New Life Camps June 24 - July 17.
For perseverance and wisdom as Michelle works with Sandy to prepare each team for the New Life Camps this summer.
For safe and smooth travel as Michelle and Sandy travel multiple times in the months ahead.
For the Lord to prepare the hearts of the team and children ahead of these trainings and New Life Camps.
